This was an email interview, but I've been working on improving kinds of questions I ask the first time out, and what questions I follow up with. It's still pretty clear that I'm not a journalist, but I'm glad this interview flowed well. ;)

As for more follow-ups, I'd prefer to let Sean respond to questions here if he has time. My general assumption is that the folks I interview for TT are two busy for three rounds of follow-ups, so I'm not going to press him.

A great interview. I always enjoyed reading SKR's articles. I too am curious to in what method was use for the interview. It flowed really well, and has a good sound to it. I definitely recommend using this method again.

Scott: I have seen his site before, including the articles. Thanks for offering it though to satisfy the curiosity that my questions reveal. The articles, in my opinion, do not remove the need for the questions I suggested.

Ramza: Here's the feat points article from his website.

Similarly, he comments on quite a few issues in his Opinions and Reviews pages.

In general, most of his RPG articles are here, within one level of browsing.

Nice interview, Martin.

In terms of improvement, the standard d20 system still has some baggage from earlier editions of D&D, and modifying or dropping those elements would be an improvement. I’d also like to see fewer absolutes in the game (like absolute immunity to fire). And while the introduction of feats is a great mechanic, not all feats are created equal and a method to price feats differently (for example, with “feat points”) based on their power and utility.

It would have been great if you could have followed up on this response. Asking about what particular baggage he would like dropped, for example. Also, to follow up the feats comments, a question about SKR's feat points rules would have been great. Finally, I think it would be really interesting to hear what published variant rules he has used in a campaign.

Any chance of a few follow ups? :-)

Excellent interview, kudos to both Martin and SKR. I really do appreciate the way SKR supports the hobby with his freebies.

And don't worry about your body; y'all make me look good at GenCon... :P

And let's all give a big cheer to Sean for releasing The New Argonauts for free! Classy move.

This one worked very well-- was it email based? I noticed the longer answers and assume so, but it did have more of the "talking" feel that your chat interviews have.

It was a good interview-- thanks for sharing!

I have to agree w/ Sean and \/\/_GM: taking care of your body is key. It's not something that only vain people do, or health-nuts do. No one is saying to compete in World's Strongest Man or anything; being healthy sharpens your brain (believe it or not: http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20060225/bob10.asp) and makes you feel better.
</soapbox>

It was a good interview. I really liked the questions you asked, and your followup questions where pretty good.

In general, I love these interviews, especially since each one seems to get better. Keep up the good work, Martian!

Overall I liked the interview even though I don't play D&D anymore. Sean still gave good advice for GMs regardless of the system played.

Yet my favorite part of the interview was Sean's last part about taking care of yourself. I feel very strongly about that issue myself.
