RPG WikiProject

Jonas Karlsson (of Jonas Dagar) is tossing around the idea of an RPG WikiProject: a group of dedicated folks adding RPG-related articles to Wikipedia (and improving existing content).

This could turn out to be pretty useful for GMs — if you’re interested in helping out, let Jonas know.

Somehow, you find yourself about to run a game for waaaay too many players. Maybe you’re just a softy, and can’t say no when too many people are interested in your game — or maybe you’ve never tried GMing for a large group before, and you just want to give it a shot.

Free Game Music, Character Sheets and Campaign Wikis

Several neat threads have been posted in the GMing Q&A Forum this week — these are three of the best, covering free background music, character sheets and using wikis for your campaign.

• xternal started Free music resources?, and he’s gotten pointers to some handy resources — like Michikawa’s ambient soundtracks.

• cedrictheblack started a discussion on where to find the best character sheets. Along with the ever-popular Mad Irishman, he’s gotten several other good suggestions.

Wiki vs Blog for a Campaign Website?, posted by psychoph, examines the merits of both options for creating as online resources for your campaign.

If you still haven’t joined the GMing Q&A Forum, why not head on over and become a member today?

Paizo’s GameMastery Line

I recently stumbled accross Paizo Publishing’s GameMastery product line, and thought it might be of interest to other GMs.

There are 4 pros and just 1 con to Tact-Tiles, and I’m going to lay them out for you in this review.

Why You Should be Watching Battlestar Galactica

Joshua BishopRoby lays out why BSG rocks:

…every episode, and I mean every episode, picks a couple characters and the issue or conflict that most applies to them, and proceeds to stomp on it, applying excrutiating pressure on it, then adds more pressure, and then more pressure.

In addition to being fantastic in its own right, BSG is amazing fodder for gaming (sci-fi or otherwise). BSG Season 1 and the first half of season 2, BSG Season 2.0, (affiliate links) are out now on DVD.
